Steam cleaners take a different approach to cleaning carpets. They release buckets of hot, soapy water into your carpet. In a perfect world, all that water and soap would get sucked back up by the machine. However, steam cleaners leave behind an excess of water and sticky residue (that end up only attracting more dirt). With all that extra water, you’ll wait a few days for the carpets to dry.
While steam cleaning will make your carpets look clean for a short time, the sticky soap residue left behind will also cause them to get dirty quicker.
